Streaming to TikTok

TikTok Live allows creators to stream directly to their TikTok audience. pMix includes a built-in TikTok preset.

Prerequisites

  • A TikTok account with live streaming access (typically requires 1,000+ followers)
  • TikTok’s LIVE Studio or RTMP stream key access enabled on your account

Getting your stream key

  1. Open TikTok on desktop or use TikTok LIVE Center
  2. Start a new live session
  3. Select Go Live with the RTMP option
  4. Copy the Server URL and Stream Key

Configuring pMix

  1. Open SettingsStreaming
  2. Select TikTok as the platform
  3. Paste your stream key
  4. Review the recommended settings:

Resolution 1920x1080 (or 1280x720)
Frame rate 30 fps
Video codec H.264
Bitrate 2500–4500 kbps
Keyframe interval 2 seconds
Audio AAC, 128 kbps

Going live

  1. Tap Start in pMix’s output controls
  2. The stream connects and becomes visible on TikTok
  3. When finished, tap Stop in pMix

Tips

  • Vertical vs. horizontal — TikTok audiences expect vertical content, but horizontal streams work too (they appear letterboxed). Consider your content format
  • Stream keys may be single-use — Get a fresh key each time
  • Lower bitrate — TikTok’s audience is primarily mobile, so 2500–4000 kbps is usually sufficient
  • H.264 only — H.265 is not supported
