Creating Scenes from Templates

The fastest way to create a scene is from a built-in template. Templates provide pre-configured layer positions that you can use as-is or customize.

Steps

  1. Open the Scenes panel
  2. Tap Create Scene (or +)
  3. Select a template from the list
  4. Enter a name for the scene
  5. The scene is created with the template’s default layer positions

Templates

Fullscreen

  • 1 layer — fills the entire frame
  • Use case: Identical to a regular source, but useful as a starting point for customization

Picture-in-Picture

  • 2 layers — one full-frame, one small window in the corner
  • The small window is 25% of the frame size, positioned in the bottom-right
  • Use case: Speaker + presentation, host + guest, gameplay + facecam

Side-by-Side

  • 2 layers — 50/50 horizontal split with a 1% gap
  • Use case: Two-person interview, dual camera angles, comparison view

Stacked Vertical

  • 2 layers — 50/50 vertical split with a 1% gap
  • Use case: Top/bottom layouts, combining horizontal and vertical content

Quad Grid

  • 4 layers — 2x2 grid with 1% gaps
  • Use case: Four-person panel, multi-camera monitoring, sports quad-box

Triple Layout

  • 3 layers — one large area (66% of height) on top, two smaller areas below
  • Use case: Main speaker with two supporting views, news-style layout

Large with Sidebar

  • 4 layers — 75% width main area on the left, three stacked layers on the right (25% width)
  • Use case: Main content with multiple sidebar views, dashboard-style layout

After creation

Once created, you can:

  • Assign sources to each layer
  • Customize layer positions and sizes by editing the layer frames
  • Duplicate the scene to create variations
  • Rename the scene
